Stepping on the Octane’s carpet…

Well… There isn’t really much to say about a Defender.

Just that…

It carries the dog…

It carries the cat…

It carries the rabbit…

It carries the kids…

It carries your mates…

Take the family...

And in this case, as it seats six, it really does.

Take your bags...

Take your bikes...

Take your surfboards...

Take your tools...

Take your firewood...

Take boxes...

Take camping gear...

Take muddy boots...

Take your still-wet wetsuit...

Take the cool box...

Take the barbecue...

Take the tent...

Take the canoe...

Take the rackets...

Carries fishing rods...

Carries sacks of earth...

Carries building materials...

Carries the things you bought at IKEA without measuring first.

Carries the things you swore at home would ‘fit perfectly’.

Carries people to a wedding...

Carries people to a grape harvest...

Take people on an adventure...

Take people who, half an hour later, ask...

“But will this actually fit through here?”

Yes... It will!!!

Go to the beach...

Go to the snow...

Go to the hills...

Go to the mountains...

Go to the countryside...

It goes to the farm...

It goes to the building site...

It goes hunting...

It goes fishing...

It goes to the river...

It goes on a trail...

It goes camping...

It goes to a festival...

It goes on a picnic...

It goes to fetch firewood...

Go and pick up the children...

Go and pick up friends...

Go to the supermarket...

Go to a restaurant...

Go to a hotel...

Go to the centre of Lisbon...

And if you need to... go somewhere where the centre of Lisbon seems like a distant memory.

Climb...

Descend...

Crosses…

Slides…

Gets stuck…

Drives out of the mud…

Drives over rocks…

Drives through mud…

Drives through sand…

Drives through water…

And if the road ends… it carries on.

It doesn’t ask if the road is in good condition.

It simply asks, “Which way???”

Perhaps this is the best and simplest way to describe a Land Rover Defender 110 Crew Cab Td5.

A car created in an era when ‘SUV’ didn’t yet mean giant alloy wheels, ambient lighting and a button called ‘Off-Road’.

Here, Off-Road mode begins when the tarmac ends.

And you don’t need to press a single button.

Land Rover Defender 110 Crew Cab Td5.

It carries practically everything.

It just doesn’t take the phrase ‘end of the road’ too seriously.

Editor’s Note:

It seats six people.

We haven’t yet managed to verify the number of dogs, bicycles, surfboards, boots, suitcases and bad ideas that fit in the back.
