Stepping onto the Octane carpet…

For years we were told that the future of the car would be electric…

Silent…

Efficient…

Lamborghini listened carefully to it all.

It developed a battery…

It fitted three electric motors…

It created a plug-in hybrid system…

And then, probably worried that it was all starting to make too much sense, it plonked a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 in the middle.

Welcome to the Lamborghini Revuelto…

For almost sixty years, the V12 lineage from Sant’Agata has been defined by names such as Miura, Countach (We’ll be getting one of those too…), Diablo, Murciélago and Aventador.

The Revuelto had a particularly thankless task: to replace the Aventador at a time when a V12 seemed to have gone from being a symbol of engineering to a public relations problem.

Lamborghini could have reduced the displacement…

It could have fitted turbos…

It could even have abandoned the twelve cylinders...

It did none of these things...

It created a new naturally aspirated 6,498 cm³ V12, capable of producing 825 cv at 9,250 rpm, paired it with three electric motors and achieved a combined power output of 1,015 cv.

It goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds...

Over 350 km/h...

And, for the first time in a Lamborghini V12, an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

They called it electrification.

We prefer to call it an excellent excuse to keep the V12 alive.

Because that is perhaps the true meaning of the Revuelto.

It is not the Lamborghini that has abandoned the past to survive the future…

It is the Lamborghini that has decided to take the past with it.

This particular model, MY25, was configured by Lamborghini Lisbon and registered this September 2026.

In other words, we’re looking at something increasingly rare in this market: a Revuelto that’s brand new in terms of registration history, already available and without all the talk of an ‘estimated delivery time’.

And the specification is well worth taking some time to analyse.

The paintwork is Ad Personam Rosso Bia.

Not just ‘red’… It’s Rosso Bia, a paint finish that cost €17,690.40 in the original quote.

Then someone carried on tinkering with the configurator… perhaps Rui, perhaps Vasco...

21‘/22’ Altanero forged wheels in Bronze Diamond Cut...

Lower Exterior Carbon Package in gloss carbon fibre...

Upper Style Package in High Gloss Black...

Bocca Nera...

Exhaust tailpipes in matt black...

Rear Lamborghini logo in matt black…

Nero Lucido carbon-ceramic brake calipers…

And inside, Nero Ade and Rosso Alala, red seatbelts, reverse stitching, embroidered logos on the seatbacks and contrasting Q-stitching…

Carbon fibre in the interior...

Carbon fibre on the steering wheel...

Illuminated matt carbon fibre door sills...

Passenger Display...

High-end sound system...

Fully electric and heated seats...

Full High Assistant Package...

Parking Pack...

Lamborghini Vehicle Tracking System...

And a Lamborghini warranty extension up to the 5th year...

In total?

€129,137.58 in optional extras... (Yes... One hundred and twenty-nine thousand euros in optional extras).

There are flats that would get nervous just hearing this conversation, but the provisional quote issued by Lamborghini Lisbon in January 2025 put the price of this configuration – including taxes and charges as estimated at the time – at €796,145.67.

Almost eight hundred thousand euros before anyone has even driven the first kilometre with the number plate on.

And this is precisely where the Revuelto starts to make sense… insofar as one can use the word ‘sense’ in relation to a car with 1,015 cv and doors that open upwards.

Because you don’t buy a Lamborghini like this out of necessity.

You buy it because there are still objects capable of making us stop mid-conversation to take a look.

Please… Do be so kind… Take another look at the photos.

The front end looks as though it was designed with a ruler, a fighter jet and a touch of resentment.

The doors still do what a Lamborghini V12 has been meant to do ever since the Countach… they swing upwards…

The rear leaves the V12 practically exposed, as if hiding it were rude.

And inside there are screens, carbon fibre, driving modes and enough technology to warrant a training course… but we still switch everything on via a red cover that looks as though it’s been stolen from a missile.

There’s no doubt about it… This is still a Lamborghini.

Except that now Lamborghini has learnt quantum physics.

The hybrid system allows it to be faster, more efficient and technologically more sophisticated than any of its predecessors.

But there’s a little marvel at the heart of all this complexity, when you press that button…

Twelve cylinders still wake up behind us…

And perhaps, in a few years’ time, that’s exactly what we’ll remember about this generation.

Not the fact that it was the first Lamborghini V12 hybrid.

But the fact that, when the time came to choose between tradition and the future…

Lamborghini refused to choose.

It kept both!!

Editor’s Note:

It’s curious to call a car that exceeds 350 km/h a ‘hybrid’.

But perhaps that is precisely the genius of the Revuelto.

Electrification hasn’t come along to apologise for the V12.

It’s here to ensure it can carry on!

The future may well be electric.

Fortunately, no one said it had to be silent...
