Stepping onto Octane’s carpet...

Easy... We have not received José Mourinho’s Ferrari.

His is a 612 Scaglietti Sessanta.

This is another story...

But now we should probably start speaking seriously.

Because this is not just a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti.

It is a One-to-One (OTO).

In 2008, Ferrari took 612 personalisation to another level and created the One-to-One programme, a dedicated atelier in Maranello where each client could configure their car in detail, choosing colours, leather, finishes and equipment almost as one would in a haute couture house.

One client...

One car...

One-to-One.

It was not a numbered edition in the traditional sense...It was something more personal.

Cars produced individually during a very special phase in the life of the 612.

And this example has details that make the story even more interesting.

Nero Daytona...

Sabbia interior...

Naturally aspirated V12...

HGT2...

Carbon-ceramic brakes...

20” Challenge wheels...

Electrochromic panoramic roof...

And a history worth telling.

It was born for the Swiss market and, from new, was serviced at Garage Foitek and Ferrari Zürich / B.I. Collection, as confirmed by the service book, fully completed and stamped.

Later, the owner himself brought it to Portugal and, in 2023, it passed into the hands of a French monsieur.

Let us be honest, an Italian Grand Tourer, born in Switzerland, maintained by Ferrari specialists, brought to Portugal by its own owner and later sold to a Frenchman has a rather appropriate biography for a car created to cross Europe.

Once in Portugal, during 2023, it remained in knowledgeable hands, having been looked after in recent years by NZN.

And for those who know Ferrari in Portugal, we probably do not need to explain much more...

For everyone else, let us simply say that there are workshops... and then there are medical specialists.

Beneath the long bonnet lives a naturally aspirated 5.7-litre V12 with 540 hp.

No turbos...

No electric motors...

No artificial sound...

Twelve cylinders, petrol and Maranello.

The 612 was created to carry four people and their luggage across an entire continent, without ever ceasing to be a Ferrari.

Front-mid engine, rear-wheel drive and that very particular ability to cover hundreds of kilometres with elegance and, when asked, immediately remind you where the Cavallino on the bonnet comes from.

On this car, the HGT2 package adds even more character to the recipe.

Carbon-ceramic brakes, 20” Challenge wheels, a sportier set-up and an exhaust note rather poorly suited to condominium meetings.

Then there is the electrochromic panoramic roof (...Yes, that is correctly written... it changes colour or transparency reversibly...)

A huge glass surface whose transparency can be electronically adjusted and which completely transforms the cabin.

Inside, we find another world.

Sabbia leather...

Daytona seats...

Yellow rev counter...

Physical buttons...

Metal...

Leather...

The small chromed lever of the F1 gearbox...

And absolutely no tablet stuck to the dashboard trying to replace Italian personality.

This car also has a rear camera, front and rear parking sensors, Cruise Control, an electrochromic mirror and other equipment chosen in its original configuration.

But in a Ferrari of this age, there are details that begin to matter as much as the options.

It retains the original Ferrari battery charger/maintainer, the folder with all manuals and onboard literature, the original tool kit and, above all, a documented maintenance history from Switzerland.

It is precisely this type of detail that separates simply owning a 612... from owning the right 612.

The rarity of the One-to-One also deserves to be explained with some care.

There is no official figure widely published by Ferrari that allows one to state, with absolute precision, how many were produced.

And perhaps there is no need...

Just try to find another...

Then try to find another with HGT2...

Then another in this colour combination...

Then another with a stamped history from Switzerland, manuals, tools, charger and specialist care...

The conversation very quickly becomes a short one.

For many years, the 612 was probably one of the most misunderstood Ferraris.

It was large...

Discreet...

It had four usable seats...

And it seemed too civilised for some purists.

Today, we are beginning to look at that recipe differently.

Naturally aspirated V12...

540 hp...

Rear-wheel drive...

Pininfarina...

Aluminium bodywork...

Four seats...

F1 gearbox...

Carbon-ceramic brakes...

And an interior from an era when a Ferrari could be luxurious without needing fifteen screens to prove it.

After the 612 came the FF...

Then the GTC4Lusso...

Today, there is the Purosangue.

But there was a time when, to carry four people in a V12 Ferrari, it was not necessary to raise the body off the ground or add two rear doors.

It was enough to build a true Grand Tourer.

And to build it very well.

Ferrari 612 Scaglietti One-to-One HGT2.

Nero Daytona over Sabbia...

Naturally aspirated V12...

Four seats...Documented history...

And a configuration that is unlikely to be repeated.

In a car created through a programme called One-to-One, perhaps it makes sense that its own story should also be difficult to repeat.

No, it is not Mourinho’s Ferrari.

But if the Mister ever wishes to exchange the Sessanta for a One-to-One, Octane will take the call.
